PewSearch Premium Page + Pro Website — Founder Interview Input File
Products: Premium Church Page ($9.95/mo) and Pro Website ($19.95/mo)
Purpose: Define exactly what a church sees at every touchpoint for both PewSearch paid tiers.
How to use: Fill in YOUR ANSWER under each question. Then in a new Claude session, say:
"Read knowledge/acceptance/decisions/pewsearch-premium-interview-prompt.md and write the complete PewSearch Premium Page and Pro Website acceptance specs at knowledge/acceptance/pewsearch-premium.md and knowledge/acceptance/pewsearch-pro-website.md."
Reference: knowledge/acceptance/starter-chat.md is the completed example format to follow.
Key distinctions to keep in mind:
- PewSearch is a church directory, not an AI product.
- Premium Page ($9.95/mo): Enhanced directory listing — photos, staff, ministries, events, verified badge, basic chatbot.
- Pro Website ($19.95/mo): Full one-page church website on top of Premium — cinematic video backgrounds, denomination-themed templates, churchname.pewsearch.com subdomain, featured sermon video.
- No free trial for either tier — preview mode on the claim page serves this purpose.
- Auth: Token-based magic link (not Supabase Auth). Admin at
pewsearch.com/admin/[token]. - Chatbot: The basic chatbot included in Premium is a PewSearch-managed feature — not a CWA chatbot plan. CWA chatbot plans are sold separately on churchwiseai.com.
Section A: Discovery & Claim Flow
Q1: How does a church find their listing on PewSearch? What is the primary discovery path — search on pewsearch.com, Google results, a pastor typing their church name, a CWA upsell link? Is there a "Claim your church" CTA visible on the homepage or directory?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q2: What does an unclaimed free listing look like to a visitor? What information is shown from the 218K directory (name, address, phone, denomination, service times)? Is there a visible "Is this your church? Claim it" banner or button on the page?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q3: What does the claim flow look like step by step? (e.g., pastor enters name + email → magic link sent → lands on claim page showing their church → chooses Premium or Pro Website → pays → gets admin access). How does the pastor prove they represent the church — is there any verification, or is it honor-system with email?
YOUR ANSWER:

- A "see a live example" link to a demo Premium/Pro page
YOUR ANSWER:
Q5: Is there a standalone pricing page on pewsearch.com (like /pricing) that explains Premium vs Pro Website? Or is pricing only shown during the claim flow?

YOUR ANSWER:

- Any link to a getting-started guide or video?
- Is the magic link / admin URL included?
YOUR ANSWER (Premium):
YOUR ANSWER (Pro Website — any differences?):
Q19: First login experience — what does the admin dashboard look like when a pastor logs in for the very first time with no content filled in? Options:
- Empty sections with helpful placeholder prompts ("Add your first photo →")
- A welcome modal or overlay with a checklist
- A guided setup wizard (step-by-step through key sections)

YOUR ANSWER (Premium — ordered list):
YOUR ANSWER (Pro Website — ordered list, noting differences):
Q21: Is there an onboarding wizard (guided multi-step flow) or does the pastor just land on the full dashboard and figure it out? If there's a wizard, how many steps and what does each step cover?
YOUR ANSWER:
Section E: CWA Integration
Q22: How does the CWA upsell appear inside the PewSearch admin? For example:
- A banner or card on the Overview tab: "Want a full AI voice agent? See ChurchWiseAI plans →"
- An "Upgrade" tab that shows CWA plans
- A sidebar CTA
- No upsell — PewSearch admin is purely for directory features
- Upsell only appears after chatbot interactions hit a limit
YOUR ANSWER:
Q23: CWA Pro Chat (and higher) plans include "PewSearch Pro Website ($19.95 value free)" as a bundled benefit. If a church buys CWA Pro Chat, how do they access their free Pro Website? Options:
- A link in the CWA admin dashboard: "Claim your free Pro Website on PewSearch →"
- An email sent after CWA signup with a claim link
- They still go through the normal pewsearch.com claim flow but the payment is waived
- Automatically provisioned — they just get a magic link with Pro Website already active
- Not yet implemented — this is aspirational
YOUR ANSWER:
Q24: If a church is already paying $9.95/mo for PewSearch Premium and then buys CWA Pro Chat (which includes Pro Website free), what happens?
- They are automatically upgraded to Pro Website and their $9.95 charge stops
- They keep paying $9.95 (separate subscription) but also get Pro Website via CWA — double benefit
- They get a credit or refund for the remaining Premium period and are upgraded
- Nothing automatic — they need to contact support
- Not yet defined — need a decision
YOUR ANSWER:
Q25: Does the PewSearch admin link out to the CWA admin for AI product management (voice agent, chatbot beyond basic, analytics)? For example, a note saying "For advanced AI features, visit your ChurchWiseAI dashboard →"? Or are these systems completely siloed with no cross-links?
YOUR ANSWER:
Section F: Public-Facing Pages
Q26: What does the church detail page URL look like for each tier?
- Free listing:
pewsearch.com/churches/[slug]— confirm? - Premium: same URL as free, or different?
- Pro Website:
[churchname].pewsearch.com— is this the actual URL, or doespewsearch.com/churches/[slug]still work as a canonical? - Are both URLs live for Pro Website (subdomain + slug), and if so, which is canonical for SEO?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q27: What does a Premium church page look like to a visitor? Describe the visual layout:
- Header area (banner photo, church name, verified badge?)
- Navigation / sections visible
- Where does the chatbot button appear?
- Is there a "This church uses PewSearch Premium" badge or is it unbranded?
- Approximate page length — single card, or a full scrollable page?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q28: What does a Pro Website page look like to a visitor? Describe the visual differences from Premium:
- Cinematic video header — autoplay, muted, full width?
- Template visual style — how distinct are the 3 denomination themes?
- Does it look like a real church website (navigation, multiple sections) or still like a directory listing with extras?
- Is there any "Powered by PewSearch" footer attribution?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q29: Mobile experience — do Premium and Pro Website pages look good on mobile? Are there any known mobile-specific behaviors (video replaced with still image on mobile, different layout)?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q30: SEO — do Premium and Pro Website church pages get any SEO advantages over free listings? Options:
- Richer structured data (schema.org/Church) with more fields
- Better crawlability (prioritized in sitemap)
- Canonical subdomain for Pro Website helps SEO (unique domain signal)
- No SEO difference — same metadata generation for all tiers
- Premium/Pro pages are indexed; free listings are noindex
YOUR ANSWER:
Section G: Lifecycle
Q31: No free trial for either tier (per PRICING.md — "preview mode serves this purpose"). What exactly is "preview mode"? Can a pastor see what their Premium or Pro Website would look like before paying? How does this preview work — is it a live preview on the claim page, or a separate demo page?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q32: Cancellation — what happens to the church's listing when they cancel Premium or Pro Website?
- Immediately reverts to free listing (photos, staff, events disappear from public view)
- Reverts at end of billing period (service continues until period ends)
- Data is retained in the database but hidden — can reactivate and restore
- Data is deleted after a grace period (how long?)
- For Pro Website: subdomain stops resolving immediately or at billing period end?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q33: Payment failed — what happens when a Premium or Pro Website payment fails?
- Stripe retries automatically (how many times, over how many days?)
- Pastor gets an email with a payment update link — what does the email say?
- Dashboard shows a warning banner
- Listing downgrades to free immediately on failure, or after a grace period?
- Is the church notified before downgrade, or only after?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q34: Downgrade from Pro Website to Premium — if a church paying $19.95/mo downgrade to $9.95/mo, what happens?
- Pro Website features (video, template, subdomain) immediately removed
- Downgrade takes effect at next billing period
- Their photos, staff, and ministries data carry over (since Premium includes these)
- Subdomain stops resolving but data is retained if they re-upgrade
- Any CWA Pro Website entitlement (via CWA Pro Chat bundle) would replace the paid Pro Website sub — how does that interact?
YOUR ANSWER:
Section H: Directory & Search
Q35: Do Premium and Pro Website churches rank higher in PewSearch search results than free listings? Is ranking by tier explicit (Premium always above free) or algorithmic (completeness of profile, distance, relevance)?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q36: Are there "Featured" or "Verified" badges shown in PewSearch search results for Premium/Pro churches? What does the badge look like — a small checkmark icon, a "Verified" label, a "Premium" ribbon? Is it visible in the search result card or only on the church detail page?
YOUR ANSWER:
Q37: Can Premium and Pro Website churches appear in contextual recommendations? For example:
- "Churches near you" on the homepage
- "Similar churches" on another church's page
- "Featured church" placements in the directory
- Are these recommendations weighted toward Premium/Pro churches, or purely by proximity/relevance?
